Installing the Meta Quest Link App
To set up your Meta Quest headset, you first need to download the Meta Quest Link App to your computer. Here's how to download and install the Meta Quest Link App on your computer:
-
Go to Quest setup and select the appropriate download for your hardware. Then click on the blue "Download Software" button.
-
Open the Meta Quest Link App and click on "install now".
-
Follow the on-screen instructions to create a Meta account and set up your Meta VR headset.
- After installation, go to "Settings" -> "General" -> set Meta Quest Link as the default OpenXR runtime
- Warning: This option can only be activated as Admin. Please log in with the Admin Windows User and activate this option from there. Starting the app as Admin ("Run as Administrator") is unfortunately not enough.
- In the same menu (‘Settings’ -> ‘General’), activate the toggle for ‘Unknown sources’. It is necessary for all apps that do not come through the official Meta Quest store.
After that, you can start Halocline and start your planning in VR.
Note
A link cable is required to use the Meta Quest, Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest 3. If your PC / laptop and WIFI meets the requirements for Air Link, the connection is also possible wirelessly. You can find more about the wireless connection here.
