If your VR system has not yet been set up on your computer, there are a few setup steps to complete first.
HP Reverb G2 Setup Guide
The Mixed Reality Portal is required the use of the HP Reverb G2. This is installed with Windows by default. In some companies, however, this may not be available and the subsequent installation is blocked. In this case, please contact your IT department.
The Mixed Reality Portal is used to set up the HP Reverb G2. This is usually already installed on Windows. If this is not the case, follow the steps below:
- Connect the HP Reverb G2 to your PC with the DisplayPort cable and the USB-C/USA-A cable.
If an adapter is required for the connection, please make sure that the adapter and the port on the PC support at least DisplayPort 1.3.
- Now connect the power supply of the HP Reverb G2.
- The Mixed Reality Portal should now start automatically and guide you through the setup of the HP Reverb G2.
- After completing the Mixed Reality Portal tutorial, Halocline can be started.
Important: Complete HP's tutorial before starting Halocline, as it will block communication to Halocline.
If the connection between headset and Halocline does not work smoothly, follow the instructions here.

Troubleshooting HP Reverb G2
Disabling standby mode
The headset's standby mode can potentially block the connection to the software and subsequently require a restart of Halocline. To prevent this, this standby mode can be disabled.
To do this, go to the Windows Settings app and select the Mixed Reality settings menu. (This is only displayed if the VR headset is detected).
Now select the Headset display submenu and select "Never" under Timeout in standby mode→ Timeout in standby mode.
