Function
The multi-user in Halocline allows you and your colleagues to meet and discuss directly on your store floor in VR.
This article shows you how to start a multi-user meeting in Halocline.
Instruction
Preparation for multi-user meeting
Before you start a multi-user meeting, you should share the data set including the variant with the other meeting participants. To do this, export the desired file, such as a shopfloor, a workspace, or even several variants, and send it to the participants in advance. They can then import the desired files into Halocline Layout.
Starting a multi-user meeting
Start the multi-user meeting directly for a specific use case, here a variant. On the start screen in Halocline Performance, next to the buttons "Start VR", you will find the selection field "Meeting".
By clicking on "Meeting" you can start the multi-user meeting or join the meeting as a participant.
Create room
When you "Create room" a new "room code" is generated, which you can copy with one click to share it with the other participants. This code is necessary to enter the shared meeting.
First, enter your name and choose an avatar type. This data will be shared with the other participants.
Then copy the room code and click on "Create room".
Halocline Performance will now open and connect to the server. Other participants cannot join until the room is created and loaded.
Join room
To join an existing room as a participant, you need the room code.
In the multi-user window, switch to the "Join room" tab, enter your name and select an avatar type.
Click on "Join room" to open Halocline Performance and connect to the server. If you are unable to join the room, check that your code is correct and that the room has already been created.
During the meeting
You can now see all participants as avatars in VR. To be able to tell them apart, the avatars wear different shirt colors in addition to their name tags. The color is randomly generated and cannot be customized. In the participants list you can find an overview of the participants and the assigned colors. You can find more information here: Multi-User | Introduction and Requirements (BETA).
You can also load the participant list in the desktop view by clicking on the Multi-User icon. Here you will also see your room code so that you can invite further participants.
