Notepad in VR

Function

The Notepad can be used to display additional information such as measurements, photos, (to-do) lists and texts needed for planning directly in Halocline Layout. This allows you to have your information right in your line of sight without having to put down the headset.

Instructions

Preparation of the information on the PC

Creating the notes

  • You can create .txt files in the text editor by selecting > New > Text Document from the context menu in any folder or on the desktop of your PC. Write or copy the desired text into it. Be careful to create rather short texts and notes and not too long lines.
  • Start entries in the text file on a line with - [ ] (see screenshot below) to create a to-do item.
    Note:
    There must be a blank space between the minus and the open parenthesis, and between the open and the closed parenthesis. Before you type your text, put a blank space after the closed parenthesis.
  • You can also create a new to-do list directly in VR, using the "+" button in the notepad. Edit it afterwards in the editor.

Create images

  • You can display any images in the formats .jpg and .png. For example, take photos in the real world or create screenshots of lists or drafts in other programs.

Using the notepad in VR

Menu > Main menu > Notepad

  • Open the notepad window in Halocline Layout via Menu > Main Menu > Notepad. There you will see the list of all your stored files.

  • On the left side you can switch between images, notes, screenshots created in Halocline and videos.

 

Images

  • Click on the desired file to display it.
  • Select the desired image section by zooming over the "+"- and "-"-symbols on your touchpad and move the image by holding the trigger.
  • Use the arrows in the upper right corner to switch between files.
  • The left arrow takes you back to the overview.

Notes

  • Click on the desired file to display it.

  • Click on a text entry to copy it.
    Tip:
    By copying the text entry, you can name your objects faster by pasting the copied text into the VR keyboard when using the Rename tool.

To-do list

  • Click on a to-do item to check it off.

  • Use the plus button to create a new to-do list.

  • Use the arrows in the upper right corner to switch between files.

  • Use the left arrow to return to the overview.

Note:

Notes can be copied, to-do lists can currently only be checked off and not copied.

 

Screenshots

  1. Here you will automatically see all screenshots that you have created in Halocline using the desktop function or the screenshot tool. This also applies to screenshots that you have created in Halocline Assembly or Halocline Performance.

  2. Click on the desired file to display it.

  3. Select the desired image section by zooming over the "+"- and "-"-symbols and move the image with the trigger pressed.

  4. Use the arrows in the upper right corner to switch between files.

  5. Use the left arrow to return to the overview.

Videos

  1. Here you can see all the videos you have stored.

  2. Click on the desired file to view it.

  3. Start and pause the video by clicking on the Play & Pause button.

  4. Use the video bar to scroll through the video by dragging and releasing.

  5. Use the arrows in the upper right corner to switch between files.

  6. Use the left arrow to go back to the overview.
