Installation HTC VIVE & Valve Index & Vive XR Elite

If your VR system has not yet been set up on your computer, there are a few setup steps that need to be completed first. In order to use Halocline with the VIVE or Valve Index, it is necessary to install SteamVR on your computer.

SteamVR is a runtime that connects VR software to VR hardware. Below we provide you with a setup guide.

SteamVR Installation

SteamVR is required to set up your VIVE.

Install online version of Steam and SteamVR

  1. Go to https://store.steampowered.com/app/250820/SteamVR and click on the green button "Play game". 
  2. Follow the displayed instructions and create a Steam account if necessary.
  3. Connect the Vive to your computer and switch on the base stations.
  4. Start SteamVR and perform the room survey the first time you start it.
  5. Then you can start Halocline  and start your planning in VR.

Note:

Relevant for: VIVE, VIVE Pro, VIVE Pro 2 and Valve Index.
Requirement: Internet access + account at Steam must be deposited. If necessary, Steam must be unblocked by your IT in advance, in case unblocked ports or an anti-virus program blocks Steam.

 

Offline-Version von SteamVR

  1. The offline version of SteamVR does not require a pre-installation of Steam and therefore no Steam account.

  2. To access the download a registration at VIVE Advantage is required: https://business.vive.com/hk/product/sp/  
    Alternatively, you can register the VIVE Pro up to 90 days after purchase via the mandatory Vive Business Warranty & Services package.

  3. The download of the offline installer can then be accessed directly at HTC https://business.vive.com/uk/ . Register there and create a "Company" to manage your devices and warranty.

Notice:

Advantages: No internet access required; No Steam account required.

VIVE Pro & Valve Index Setup Guide

VIVE PRO

Go to https://www.vive.com/us/setup/vive-pro-hmd/ and follow the HTC VIVE Pro setup guide to set up your VR hardware. Here you will find instructions on how to set up the Linkbox, connect the headset to the Linkbox, and pair the controllers.

Vive XR Elite

To set up Vive XR Elite follow the step-by-step instructions:

For PC VR you need the "PC Streaming" Option. After you have installed SteamVR, the only step left is to download and install the PC Streaming tool and connect the XR Elite.
