The "Workplace Design" workflow shows you how Halocline makes your daily planning more efficient. Your main task is to optimally arrange and test components with the correct containers at the workstation. You can design the workplace according to your preferences.
Overview
Getting Started
-
Download the necessary files here
The zip file contains all the elements you need to design a workplace in Halocline:
- Table: A standard table adjustable in dimensions (haloitem)
- Mesh box: Fixed and should not be modified (haloitem)
- Shelf: Importable as "boxes" and adjustable. Currently provided as a CAD file (stp)
- Strut assembly: All required components in one file (haloitem)
-
Assembly sequence: An Excel file showing the correct sequence for strut assembly (xlsx)
-
Preparation:
Use an empty shopfloor as a starting point
Import all necessary elements into your project: table, mesh box, shelf, and strut components
-
View assembly sequence:
Open the Excel file of the assembly sequence
Take a screenshot of it and save it in the folder:
...\Documents\Halocline\Notes
-
Now you're ready! Open the VR environment and start placing the elements

Building the Workplace
-
Place elements:
Place table, mesh box, and shelf from the library on the shopfloor
-
Arrange components:
Use prepared components from the library
Ungroup them afterward
-
Create containers:
Create containers to store components
-
Consider assembly sequence:
Check your notes to consider the assembly sequence of components in VR and arrange the workplace accordingly
Halocline Library Item import
Halocline Library Items can be shared directly. If you want to share them with others, it’s recommended to group all relevant components for a specific workplace and save them as a shared library object.
to distribute components at a workplace, place them as one object first. Make sure to ungroup the object afterward, so you can distribute and adjust components individually.
Workplace Optimization
-
Inspiration: Browse the VR library – you’ll find additional resources to further optimize your workplace
If you can’t find what you’re looking for, check out our public library
-
Your CAD files: If you’ve imported your own CAD files, place them appropriately at the workplace
Do you know the CAD import options?
Testing and Validation
-
Test process:
Test process performance in VR and check how much time you need
-
Evaluate:
Check working height and walking paths
-
Export results:
Further analyze the Halocline Performance report
Evaluation of Solutions
Before starting the recording in Halocline Performance, practice the sequence a few times to avoid errors during recording.
Quick Corrections
You’re on the go and don’t have access to a VR headset. but you’ve got some ideas for improving the workplace?
You can implement changes without a VR headset. use the Desktop mode in Halocline Layout to quickly apply your ideas.
Tip: you can only validate target values in VR because it requires capturing your movements.
With these steps, you can optimize the workplace. Good luck!
