The “Toggle Interactability” function allows you to grab and move objects in the VR environment. To do this, objects must first be set as movable in Halocline Layout.
Anleitung
1. Set Interactability
Select an object. Open the context menu of an object. Open the properties window via the gear icon. Activate “Toggle Interactability”.
Load carriers and tools are automatically movable.
2. Set interactability for groups
To move several elements as one object, they must first be grouped together. Select all the desired objects, group them and then activate “Interactability” for the entire group. This makes the group movable as one coherent object.
Ensure that all objects you want to move together in Performance are set to "Interactability: off" first. Only after the objects are set to "off" should you group them. Then, after they are grouped, turn "Interactability" on.
Otherwise, each object will be treated as a separate item for the interaction.
Tip:
You can ensure that all objects have the same setting by selecting all relevant objects before grouping, then toggling "Interactability" on and off again.
Example: On the left, the interaction was activated individually for each box. On the right, the hammer was grouped first and the interaction was assigned to the entire group, allowing it to be moved as one object.
3. Layered Interaction
Within a group, you can make individual objects move separately. Although these then move together with the group, they can also be grabbed and moved independently of each other. This is particularly useful in combination with movement constraints. For example, you can move a trolley and its contents as a single unit, while the contents can be moved separately. You can find more information on this in the article Movement Constraints.
4. Test interactability
Save your settings and switch to Halocline Performance to test the movement.
5. Trouble shooting
-
Object does not move despite interaction being activated: Check whether movement restrictions have been set that block all axes. Remove these restrictions if necessary.
-
Objects move individually despite grouping: If objects in Performance fall apart even though the interaction on the group is activated, check whether individual objects in the group have their own interactability. You can also dissolve the groups, deactivate the interaction of the individual elements and regroup them to reset the properties and reorganize the structure.
